Chief Dr. Joseph Onu Enemona, the authentic Agent Chairman of the National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Employers of Nigeria (NASWDEN), has felicitated with all authentic members of the association across Nigeria on the occasion of the new month of October 2026.

Chief Enemona expressed gratitude to members for the trust and confidence reposed in the authentic leadership of NASWDEN led by Engr. Pastor Luke Uchechukwu Ogbu, the authentic National President.

While commending the President for his tenacious and sagacious leadership and timely intervention in curbing the activities of impostors, the Agent Chairman encouraged all members to go about their legitimate daily scrap business without fear of intimidation. He accused impostors of attempting to take the law into their own hands by forcefully imposing a strike on members.

Speaking with NextMoney, Chief Enemona issued a stern warning to those he described as impostors, extortionists and rapacious individuals masquerading under the aegis of NASWDEN to desist forthwith from their purported illegal strike action. He warned that anyone caught enforcing any illegal strike on members across the country would be arrested and prosecuted by relevant security agencies. He warned that if found guilty, such persons and their collaborators/sponsors will face the wrath of the law.

He noted that spreading of fictitious strike information by unscrupulous elements is inimical to the progress of the union, and totally unacceptable given the current economic realities in the country.

He further urged members to be resolute, stand firm, defend their rights and not bow to any form of intimidation, harassment or extortion.

The Agent Chairman assured members of the readiness of security agencies to intervene and protect them from rapacious individuals who do not understand the dynamics of the scrap business and how forces of demand and supply determine the prices of scrap metals, but who seek to use the current business situation to intimidate, harass, and extort members of their hard-earned money.

He therefore urged all members to disregard any strike notice and go about their legitimate businesses without recourse to fake news from self-acclaimed executives and fake factions, assuring that the authentic leadership led by Eng Pastor Luke Uchechukwu Ogbu is working tirelessly to put the unlawful plans and actions of impostors in abeyance.
