President Buhari Approves FG’s Team To Engage With Twitter Over Suspension

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the composition of the FederalGovernment’s Team to engage with Twitter over the recent suspension ofthe operations of the microblogging and social networking service inNigeria.
The approval was announced in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday by theMinister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who willchair the team.


According to a press release signed by the Special Assistant to the President (Media) Office of the Minister of Information, Mr. Segun Adeyemi, the team will meet with Twitter Management for negotiation to resolve the impasse between the two parties. 

The Federal Government’s team also comprises the Attorney General ofthe Federation and Honourable Minister of Justice, Honourable Ministerof Communications and Digital Economy, Honourable Minister of Foreign
Following the indefinite suspension of its operations in Nigeria, foractivities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporateexistence, Twitter wrote to President Buhari seeking to engage withthe Federal Government over the suspension, with a view to charting apath forward.
