British Afrobeats artiste Luca Zuccotti has visited the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos in homage to the late Afrobeats pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Photos and videos trending on social media showed Zuccotti touring the iconic shrine, and then met with Femi Kuti, Fela’s eldest son.

The visit has drawn attention from music enthusiasts and industry watchers within and outside Nigeria.

In a post on Instagram, African Folder described the visit   as “another testament to Fela’s lasting influence on contemporary musicians across the world”.

Responding to comments on the post, Zuccotti wrote, “I can’t even describe what this trip has done for me already.”

The visit also generated reactions from fans on social media, as many described it as another example of Afrobeat’s growing global influence and acceptance.

His influence has continued to resonate globally, with the annual Felabration festival and the New Afrika Shrine remaining major attractions for music lovers, cultural enthusiasts and international artistes seeking to connect with the roots of Afrobeats.
