In a renewed attempt to reassure the international community of security for vessels in Nigeria’s territorial waters, the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr. Bashir Jamoh played host to Ambassador of Poland t Nigeria, Ambassador Joanna Magdalena Tarnawska at the agency headquarters in Lagos.
The bilateral meeting addressed some of the concerns as it relates to the recent incident and happening at the Gulf of Guinea and sought ways Poland could be of assistance to the Agency and Nigerian Government.
At the meeting, both parties discussed area of interest, including inland ports, and plans to strengthen the relationship between the Polish government and NIMASA, particularly in the areas of training, technical support, and cooperation.
The DG appreciated the efforts of the Polish government toward collaborating in reducing maritime insecurity in the Gulf of Guinea.
Nigeria and Poland diplomatic relations dates back to the 1960s. Since then, both countries have enjoyed good political relations.

Poland-nigeria have enjoy bilateral relations for decades but we want to deepened and open up new avenues for further the coperations in the maritime sector . which include but not limited to transfers of technology and assistance in the area of security especially in the Gulf of Guinea.
