Prof. Raheem Adebayo Lawal To Deliver Keynote Address At Ana 39th International Convention

All is set for the 39th International Convention of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) scheduled for Dec. 3-6, 2020 in Illorin, Kwara State. The host branch, ANA Kwara, has shown an unusual commitment to ensure a hitch free event. 
Meanwhile the national President of the Association, Mr. Camilus Ukah has officially announced Prof. Lawal, Raheem Adebayo as Keynote Speaker for the biggest continental annual literary event with this year’s theme as: In Search of a Better World: Literature as Catalyst for National Development.
Professor Lawal, Raheem Adebayo (popularly Prof. Bayo Lawal) is a Professor of Language Education and Applied Linguistics in the Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Kwara State. 
Appointed Professor on October 1, 1998, he holds a PhD from the University of Ibadan (1989). 
The distinguished academic and poet has over 90 publications in home-based, national and international outlets (journal articles, books, book chapters, monographs, creative works including two poetry collections). 
He has held various positions of responsibilities in the university including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). 
The productive scholar, who has successfully supervised 27 PhDs also has recorded the following distinctions, awards and recognitions: (a) Award winner in 1997 BBC Arts & Africa Poetry Competition (b) 1998 Elva Knight Award for distinguished literacy research by the International Reading Association (IRA) now International Literacy Association (ILA) (c) Distinguished Graduate Award, Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan, 2001 (d) Consulting Editor to the American Biographical Institute (e) 2019 Africa Outstanding Professor Award by the Africa Brands Review. His on-going researches include, What the Cock Crows to His Creator (an experiment in Bilingual Poetry).   
Mr. Camillus Ukah has given firm assurances that the association is ready to deliver a memorable convention despite the many national and international troubles of the year, 2020. 
Writers, literary enthusiasts and the general public are once again invited to come and savour refreshing moments with the muse as a welcome relief from a drab unusually cataclysmic year.
