Leading e-commerce platform, Jumia, has rewarded the first winner in the Jumia-MasterCard Experience Competition. The winner, Mr. Wilson Anine, will have a lifetime opportunity to watch the UEFA Champions League matches in choice cities with other incentives attached.
Speaking on the promo, the Chief Executive Officer of Jumia Nigeria, Massimiliano Spalazzi said the promo is one of the many ways Jumia is encouraging consumers to make the switch to digital payment through incentives and competitions like this, in partnership with Mastercard.
“For us at Jumia, we keep our promises to our customers. We have done this in partnership with MasterCard, which is one of our partners on the JumiaPay platform. We congratulate Mr. Wilson Anine and all other Jumia customers who took part in the promo,” Spalazzi said.
He added that “Across all our platforms, our consumers have an opportunity to benefit from several incentives including discounts particularly when they pay through our Jumia Pay platform. When we launched the Jumia App and JumiaPay, we were deliberate in making sure that our consumers experience an easy and comfortable online shopping. More of these incentives should be expected from Jumia as we drive financial inclusion in Nigeria.”
Expressing his appreciation to Jumia, Mr. Anine was keen on becoming a good ambassador as he travels to watch the matches.“I won the trip to Europe with my girlfriend to watch the UEFA Champions league games, by buying products through the Jumia App using my MasterCard during the December season. Mr. Anine and subsequently winners from the promo will have an opportunity to watch two matches live in the UEFA Round of 16 matches in Europe. They will also have a lifetime opportunity of staying for three nights in a five star hotel, flight tickets to the match venue and chauffeur. In addition, they will also tour the match city with a guide, with a $250 prepaid MasterCard.
