NDIC Set to Pay Liquidation Dividend to Depositors, Ex-Staff of Defunct Peak Merchant Bank

As the official liquidator of failed banks in Nigeria, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), in line with its mandate is set to pay the depositors and ex-staff (deposits) of defunct Peak Merchant Bank their first liquidation dividend. Payment of the dividend will be done after the necessary verification by the depositors/staff of the defunct bank.

According to a release signed by Director, Communication and Public Affairs, NDIC, Bashir A. Nuhu, the verification exercise would enable depositors of the defunct bank to cross-check and ascertain their account information as well as balances with the bank as at closure.

According to the release, the verification exercise begins Monday September 18, 2023 and ends on October 16, 2023. The NDIC therefore enjoined eligible depositors/staff of the defunct bank to visit any NDIC offices or visit NDIC website http://www.ndic.gov.ng for verification of their claims. The eligible depositors/staff of the defunct bank are to send duly completed verification forms to the Corporation’s email address:  claimscomplaints@ndic.gov.ng.
